Since his solo debut with the Spokane Symphony at age sixteen, Jason Moody has performed across the United States, Europe and Japan. Jason has soloed with symphony orchestras throughout the Pacific Northwest, served as concertmaster of the Thalia Symphony, and regularly performed with the Houston Symphony. He has been a member of the Spokane Symphony since 2008 and is a substitute with the Seattle Symphony and Seattle Opera.
Jason has received fellowships for the Aldeburgh Festival, the Spoleto USA Festival, Masters Music Festival in Kazusa, Japan and the Lancaster Festival. Jason has appeared on public radio several times, with performances on Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion” and NPR’s “From the Top.” He has also been featured on KSPS Public Television’s “Northwest Profiles” and NHK public television in Japan.
Jason holds a Master of Music degree from Rice University and a B.A. in Music from Seattle Pacific University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He is currently pursuing a DMA at the University of Washington, where he is a Pre-Doctoral Teaching Associate. His principal teachers include Ronald Patterson, Sergiu Luca and Kelly Farris.
In addition to his private studio, Jason is adjunct faculty at Whitworth University and Edmonds Community College, teaching violin, viola and chamber music. Students of Mr. Moody play with the Houston, Seattle, Bellevue, and Spokane Youth Symphonies and have received music scholarships to continue their studies at the college level.
